A Vector for Change at Renewable Energy World Europe

Aug 30, 2013

Being part of the Renewable Energy World community often feels like just that… that you’re part of a special group that’s interested in making a difference to the world and its people by changing things for the better and fostering a transition to cleaner energy sources.

Of course the foundations of change are education, knowledge and experience, and there is a great opportunity for readers to build on these foundations by sharing their insights and industry expertise with their peers.

With well over 10,000 power industry colleagues set to attend the Renewable Energy World Europe conference and exhibition and its co-located sister event POWER-GEN Europe from 3-5 June 2014, this is a superb platform for exchange and we’re inviting you to submit proposals for presentation at this world-leading event.

Ahead of a selection process by our advisory board of industry experts, we’re particularly keen to hear of developments and case studies which illustrate the move towards greater integration between renewables, the grid and the existing power generation asset base.

As previously mentioned, this key trend – which reflects the rapid maturity of the renewable energy industry – is highlighted in our conference programme for 2014 with a number of joint conference tracks across the two events.

For example, in considering market and strategic issues we’re inviting papers from interested parties, with a particular focus on renewable energy and related fields as well as strategies for their integration and operation.

We’re also looking for contributions from those who can help assess the impact of EU or national policy on future energy sector development. This includes consideration of factors such as capacity markets and future market designs, climate policy drivers and the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS), and the issue of European security of energy supply.

Embracing policy and strategy, we’ll also be featuring great content when it comes to project development, exploring everything from finance and planning through to installation, operation and decommissioning. Best practices in planning, risk management and attracting the workforce of the future are all areas where we’re calling for your engagement and expertise.

As always, Renewable Energy World Europe is characterised by strong technical content and our next event will be no exception.

As conference Director, please consider this a personal invitation to submit your ideas for the best advances in the wind, solar, bioenergy, geothermal and hydropower sectors as well as novel supporting technologies such as storage.

Abstracts are due to be submitted by Friday 20th September 2013. For full details, or to submit your paper, click here and select the “Conference” tab at the top of the page.

I’m very much looking forward to seeing you in Cologne next summer.
